The read

What it feels like
Semonkong means "place of smoke," named for the mist from the 192m waterfall. The village is genuinely remote. No traffic, no noise, just mountain air and horses on dirt paths.
Who is around
Basotho herders, a handful of backpackers, and the occasional pony trek group.
On foot
The village itself is small and walkable. The hike to the falls is about 3 hours round trip on a steep, rocky trail.
After dark
The lodge serves dinner. The village has no street lighting and is very quiet after sunset. On clear nights, the highland sky is filled with stars.
